Guided tour of the Colosseum arena, how does it work?

A guided tour of the Colosseum arena will give you the chance to visit the inside of the building and learn more about its history and importance in ancient Rome.
These tours always include skip-the-line entry, which means you can skip the long lines at the entrance and go straight into the arena.

During the tour, a professional guide will provide you with detailed information on the history and significance of the Colosseum arena, explaining how it was used for gladiatorial contests and other public events during Roman times. Your guide will also show you other points of interest inside the Colosseum, such as the lower floor, where the changing rooms and gladiator halls were located, and the upper floor, from where the senators watched the games.

Will my tour operate if it rains?

If the Colosseum decides to close due to bad weather your tour will be rescheduled and we will try to offer an alternative travel date that works for you. If the site remains open your tour will operate as scheduled.

Can I visit the Gladiators' Arena?

Yes! By joining our Small Group Tour with Arena Access or a Private Colosseum Guided Tour you will have the chance to access the arena floor.

I'm running late, what happens if i miss my tour?

Please contact us at the number reported on your booking voucher if you think you might be late for your tour. We will try our best to find a solution for you.

Is there a locker where I can store my bags?

Unfortunatley the Colosseum does not have clockrooms for visitors. It is also not possible to access the site with large backpacks or suitecases so please make sure to not bring any with you.

Is there a dress code for the Colosseum?

There is no dress code needed in order to enter the Colosseum, however we do recommend comfortable shoes as there is a fair amount of walking involved.

Can I visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill?

Yes! The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are always included with your Colosseum Tickets. In the case of purchasing a guided tour, these two sites will also be guided.

I have purchased Skip the Line Tickets for the Colosseum, can I add a tour guide?

Can I join a group tour if i need to use a wheelchair?
